What is FBLA?FBLA is a local, state, and national organization of young people preparing for success as leaders in business, government, and communities. Our mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through leadership and career development programs. The Future Business Leaders of America organization is for high school students interested in a business or business-related career. To join, students must pay national, state, and regional dues. Currently, the dues to join the Bridgeport chapter are $20.00 which includes dues at all levels ($6 goes for national dues, $11 for state dues, and $3 to regional dues). If paying the dues presents a hardship for any member, the student should see the advisor to discuss the situation. Several community members are willing to hire FBLA members to help defray membership costs. |

| The Bridgeport chapter officers are elected by the membership at the last meeting of the school year. Officers are responsible for all FBLA activities. New officers may attend an officer's training workshop in the fall and participate in officer meetings to discuss organization strategy. 2009-2010 FBLA Officers

The Bridgeport chapter participates in many worthwhile activities. Some activities are conducted to raise funds, some are community service projects, and some are just plain fun ways for the members to socialize.

| The Bridgeport Chapter of FBLA attends leadership conferences throughout the year. At the regional conferences, Bridgeport members network with FBLA members from schools throughout North Central Washington. At the state conference, members meet students from all over Washington state. The conferences are expensive to attend as all costs are born by the FBLA organization. Our chapter organizes several fundraisers throughout the year to fund these conference trips. Members are usually asked to provide a nominal down payment as deposit to assure attendance since registrations are generally non-refundable.
