  • Washington State 2018 Healthy Youth Survey

    Our district is participating in the Washington State 2018 Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2018.

    The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, risk and protective factors, access to school-based services, and sexual behaviors, abuse and orientation. Survey results are used by schools, communitites and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks.

     The healthy Youth Survey is given to students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 across Washington State.

    Student Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous.

     Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools Grant

    The district recieved a Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools grant, specifically written to add and expand a playground toy structure at Bridgeport Elementary. The existing playground pit will be expanded and a large play toy installed to accommodate K-5 students. The district will receive $140,821.00 to complete the project. A springtime installation is planned.

    District items of interest: 

    The next regularly scheduled school board meeting is October 29, 2018    6:00 p.m., Superintendent’s Office. 

    The board of directors will conduct interviews on October 17th to select and appoint position area 1 that Janie Jenkins vacated at the end of August.

    Ensure a school culture where every student is respected, safe, academically challenged and engaged:

     The Great Washington ShakeOut Earthquake Drill will be held on 10/18 @ 10:18 a.m. Homecoming is the week of October 15th-19th. Powder Puff football is Wednesday, October 17th. Community BBQ is Wed. 17th. Tickets are on sale. The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, Oct. 20th.

    Ensure strong partnerships with students, families, and community:

    Bridgeport Elementary will host a Trunk or Treat in the parking lot on October 31st 5:30-6:30 p.m.

  • School Board Training

    The Bridgeport School District Board of Directors will host a training session on December 4th, 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Superintendent's Office. Dr. Gene Sharratt will facilitate the school board training.

  • Preschool Program

    Due to the district’s upcoming construction project the preschool program will run a  modified schedule for the 2018-19 school year.

    Preschool begins:            October 29

    Preschool ends:               March 29

    Parents need to register students at the Elementary Office by October 15.
